It is to be reminded that the TPLF/EPRDF regime has been muzzling the legitimate request of Konso people by force for so long. Since the government have started rounding-up the area to capture elderly and young people whom it suspects are organizing the popular uprising, several residents are forced to hide themselves.

Sources have indicated, the regime have accused the leaders as terrorist and have given orders they be captured or killed. Children, women and elderly people are threatened and intimidated to show where the suspects are hiding. The prisons are overflowing with detainees and they are deprived of sleep, food, sanitation facilities and medication.

Authorities are working hard to divide the people so that they can fight against each other and the community is pleading to the international community or any other concerned body to intervene soon and do something about it before genocide ensues, it is reported.
