dr-eleniExpats with vested interest to sustain ethnic apartheid rule remained the only source of comfort for the ruling ethnic oligarchs that defy Ethiopians’ call to surrender illegitimate political and economic power held by the barrel of the gun and deception-by-omission.

March 25, 2018

 In her March 2, 2018 SPORE Newsletter of the Technical Center for Agriculture and Rural Cooperation (CTA) of the Netherland, the moving-target flyby ‘economist’ Dr. Eleni Geber Medhin howled again; Don’t leave technology to men”. The Founder and CEO of the new Blue Moon, that claim to be ‘Ethiopia’s first youth agribusiness incubator’ interview conducted in the middle of the second State of Emergency by unnamed person of the Newsletter new war against men and the old was right after the ruling party affiliated New Business Ethiopia Media in June 2017 reported; European Investment Bank announcement it will “introduce private sector leasing, lending initiative in Ethiopia in the middle of the first State of Emergency the ruling ethnocratic autocracy of Ethiopia declared.

According to the report, Pim van Ballekom, “the EIB Vice President will meet entrepreneurs at Blue Moon, Ethiopia’s first youth agribusiness “representatives of Ethiopia’s first private equity fund, Cepheus, and see how mobile payments systems expected to be backed by future EIB support are transforming financial services across the country”.

Both Blue Moon and Cepheus are newly formed firms by US nationals of Ethiopian origin.  Though the Founder of Blue Moon Dr. Eleni is known ficture in the donor community’s new love for the ‘Private Public Partnership (PPP) that financed her Ethiopian Commodity Exchange venture in 2008 on behalf of the ruling party and her Eleni LLC, a foreign private equity investor consulting venture three years later, little is known to the background of the Founders of the new Cepheus private equity fund firm.

Yet, on 12 October 2017 (about three month after the June 2017 reported meeting of the two firms with the Banks’ VP) The European Investment Bank (EIB) announced in a Press Release it would back Cepheus Private Equity Fund with 100 million USDs.

It is not clear how Blue Moon and Cepheus Private Equity Fund owned by two US nationals of Ethiopian origin posed as locals managed to pull 100 million dollars backing heist from the Bank three month after the VP met them.  But, it appears they are ‘incubating’ something else altogether than youth agribusiness in the middle of a State of Emergency.

Regardless, on January 2018  article titled;  Is-European Investment Bank Backing Investors Or Invaders In Ethiopia? I asked; how EIB award substantial amount of money for a less-than-one-year-old Cepheus led by US national Kassaye Kebded (pictured), that operate a New York based Panton Capital and Cayman Island based Panton Alternative Fund of nearly  a billion dollars’ worth from undisclosed individuals and noted;

“Quite frankly, the dramas contemporary dysfunctional elites play on the people of Ethiopia in general are appalling beyond words. But, what is even nauseating are those that are hell-bent to legitimize TPLF led ethnic apartheid dictatorship and its economics of extortion the best way they knowhow despite knowing the reality. Unfortunately, outsourcing for third foreign party to cover up their tracks are becoming increasingly popular to sustain their unethical if not criminal activities.”

Inquiry sent to EIB’s governing body of EU parliamentary committee to the lack of transparency and disclosure on the Press Release regarding the background of the individuals that set up Cepheus resulted with a comical response stating an ‘oversight’, according a letter from the VP of the Bank to EU Representative that wouldn’t comment further calming;  ‘the matter is under investigation’ until an official finding is release.

It is remarkable how easily the donor community fall for foreign nationals that bypass national, political, economic, judicial… boundaries as-long-as they present themselves as Ethiopian national in conspiracy with the ruling oligarchy to tap donors funding.

But, when the ethnic divide of the apartheid regime wasn’t enough, the legendary Blue Moon economist Dr. Eleni starting a new divide front between the sexes and ages of Ethiopians in the middle of the youth revolution not to ‘think democracy’ to end ethnic apartheid rule instead to “think digital” is yet another new low in the drama of contemporary dysfunctional elites that live in alternative reality.

Unfortunately, the old Revolutionary Democracy Developmental State proponent Eleni turn the new feminist-Market Fundamentalist conveniently forgetting; the ruling ethnic oligarchs deprive 98% of Ethiopian population the ‘digital technology’ to have the audacity to say; “don’t leave technology to men” as oppose ‘don’t leave technology to ethnic oligarchs’ she serves.  Isn’t that what our people refer as አህያውን ፈርቶ ዳውላወን?

Frankly, had her rant was the later as it rightly should, this write up wouldn’t be necessary. But, the queen of poverty problem is not the ethnic oligarchy she serves but its victims — further reinforcing; dysfunctional elites’ unholy relationship with rogue ethnic apartheid regime to suspend reality and their professional responsibility will remain the # 1 problem facing Ethiopians’ struggle for democracy.

Interestingly, the last time around, Dr. Eleni’s victims were poor farmers against ‘exploitive’ merchants that she claimed motivated her to create the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange and ended up handing over the poor farmers and exploitive merchants over for ‘merchants-of-death’ of Woyane and walked away to establish Eleni LLC in Kenya to consult ‘foreign private equity fund investors’ to invest in agriculture sector. Now back again to Ethiopia where she started, her new Blue Moon ‘youth agribusiness incubator’ venture to help the same youth that started the grassroot political revolution to end the regime rule is too convenient for a foreign national posed as Ethiopian.

In a Sept 2017 article titled; “When an Ethiopian American Economist suspend her profession in the midair; what can Ethiopians do?” I notified the flyby economist Dr. Eleni to grow up and act as professional to make a living as honorable economist. Apparently, for some strange reason; contemporary dysfunctional elites in general consider poverty industry as honorable occupation to earn a living and brag about it in public.

Regardless, nothing Ethiopians can do what line of business or profession dysfunctional elites engage as-long-as it is not at the expenses of the people of Ethiopia. Once again, Dr. Eleni crossed the forbidden line by the way of wagging war between the sexes and ages of Ethiopians in the middle of a war between the people of Ethiopia and the rogue ethnic apartheid regime that declared State of Emergency in defiance to surrender illigtimate power.

Wagging war between the people of Ethiopia is the hallmark of Woyane apartheid regime’s policy.  Therefore, Dr. Eleni’s latest — Don’t leave technology to men rant is in line with the policy as expected from any dysfunctional elites with stake in game to pivot reality and preserve the status qua.

Unfortunately, she is not alone. An army of dysfunctional elites, particularly from the diaspora are empowered to cash in the massive poverty and extortive economy created for them by TPLF Mafia Inc. and its foreign enablers. The Agazi invaders (investors) as I like to refer them are all over the country throwing empty slogans not many Ethiopians pay attention to — distracted by the chaos the regime created.

Bilateral and multilateral institutions’ complicity towards the regime, including China, India, Norway, US and UK and World Bank, UNDP, EU, AU is beyond explanation. How much dysfuctional elites pivoting reality contrubuted to blind support to the regime is increasingly clear.

For instance, the recent World Bank’s 600 million-dollars loan to the rescue the regime in the verge of collapse didn’t happen by an accident but, by another dysfunctional elite in the diaspora by the name Abebaw Alemayehu (pictured) appointed by the Bank to make something out of the ‘noting-burger’ apartheid regime.

According to Reuters, the World Bank’s team leader Abebaew Alemayehu in a statement to justify the loan said;

 “to successfully manage urbanisation … cities are likely to require fiscal transfers for the foreseeable future. This programme will help cities to realise their revenue potential,”.

Is Abebaw Alemayehu  suggesting; the ethnic apartheid landlords’ led regime the loan is expected  ‘to successfully manage urbanization’ after 27 years urban and rural land grab of their cronies?

The last time the World Bank funded villagization program, the justification was to help health and education services delivery to the rural poor that resulted in the greatest land grab and displacement of population since Europeans invaded Africa.                                                                                                                                                                      Unfortunately, for every major crime the rogue regime commited against the people of Ethiopia, there are dysfunctional elites and funding from bilateral and multilateral agencies and private Foundation in the name of helping the poor, the sick and economic development… behind it as justification.

It is obviously clear, dysfunctional elites in genral are causing havoc in the political, social, economic and safety of the people of Ethiopia in different forms-and-shapes and degrees. But, alike many that are in it for the quick backs and previlage to take advantage of the chaos the ethnic apartheid regime created, there are two-dozen dysfunctional elites from the diaspora that created structural damage posed as neutral party with no accountability to the people of Ethiopia nor to the people of the nations they belong. The queen of poverty Dr. Eleni Geber Medhin happen to be one big shark in the pond that stands out.

The prestigious Stanford University graduate willful detachment from reality is better expressed with her own words in an article she wrote in August of 2009 on Nazret Blog titled ETHIOPIA – LET US BE LIKE THE MARKET –  about a year after she established the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange at a height of her popularity of her donors that finance her venture as ‘Market Maker’ for the ethnic oligarchy as the record shows.

After a long tirade to explain her diverse ethnic Ethiopian heritage and background to reclaim her Ethiopian nationality in defiance of the ethnic Apartheid regime policy she operates and serves under, the US national and the self-discribed Ethiopian with ‘diverse’ ethnic origin concluded her article as follows;

“Ethiopia is ours, to claim, to build and to restore. Rather than engage in destructive ethnic bigotry, far better to embrace all of what we are and to build together a better future for our children. My personal identity is irrelevant to my choice or ability to lead an initiative to bring a better marketing system for all Ethiopians, regardless of their ethnic roots or which corner of the country they claim. A market is above all a connection between humans, an exchange of goods and money that links two sides. The market is neutral as to who is on either side, it is the connection that counts. I have always found traders to be the most pragmatic people in the world. Let us too live by this market principle: we are far richer and far stronger if we build on our connectivity to each other in meaningful ways, and that much weaker if we seek isolation and succumb to narrow divisiveness. Let us be like the market. I believe it is our only hope.”

As comical as it sounds coming from a trained economist to conveniently reinvent revolutionary “marketing system” for all in contradiction to a transactional ethnic apartheid oligarchy led regime and donors money that finance her adventure, the legendary Dr. Eleni claims “Ethiopia is ours, to claim, to build and to restore” thus, we are all one big happy Ethiopian family not by historical fact or democratic principle Ethiopians are demanding but, by new Revolutionary  ‘Market Principle’ she reinvented that suit her pocket book and the Mafia oligarchs next door.  Isn’t that what our people call “ሁሉ አማረሽን ገበያ አታወጧት”

But, what her dysfunctional mind didn’t realize is; her cry not to “engage in destructive ethnic bigotry” her new love for ‘market principle’ will solve doesn’t apply the same when she engaging in sexism and age-sim of Ethiopians in her new Blue Moon, more like Full Moon —  “Don’t leave technology to men” rant and Youth agribusiness venture. But again, Market Principle can be anything at any time to a dysfunctional elite; as-long-as donors finance it. Isn’t that what our people refer as የጎርጊስን ግብር የበላ ያስለፈልፍዋል?

Obviously, the woman is as dysfunctional as an elite can come and not important to dwell on. But, the bigger issue of her behavior widespread among contemporary dysfunctional elites that bogged down the democratic struggle not only to free the people of Ethiopia from modern-day ethnic apartheid tyranny but, to end their unscrupulous behavior and the entitlement that come with it courtesy of the donors’ demand to address it. Therefore, the impact her new revolutionary ‘market principle’ she reinvented to permanently sustain the political, social, economic infrastructure of ethnic apartheid of Woyane — reminiscent of the old South African apartheid system at the expenses of the people of Ethiopia must end and it will soon.

Therefore, contemporary dysfunctional elites’ intellectual corruption (sometimes referred as ‘prostitutions’) left millions of our people poor, destitute and deprived of their rights and liberties under a gun no flyby ‘market principle’ or ideology other than democratic principle will cure.

Therefore, the sooner Eleni and her elks, particularly those from the diaspora with inconsequential credential and mandate to the people of Ethiopia realize and master the will to build the character to tell the truth nothing but, the truth so God help them’, the sooner they will be stop their behavior of what our people refer as; ሌባ ለአመሉ ቅቤ ይልሳል.

Anything less, no matter how we shake-it- and-bake or dice it is political or/and economic intoxication propagated by the usual suspects and financed by the donor community to sustain the status qua.

Until then, the crocodile tears dysfunctional elites’ shed — ‘I love Ethiopia’ doesn’t worth the paper it is written on. It only means; ‘if only the money is good’. After all, even the infamous late ethnic Mafia boss Melse Zenawi that hated Ethiopia before he loved her said it best; ‘what love got to do with it’ by pleading guilty of his crimes. No less is expected from his admirers like Dr. Eleni G. Medhin that phot-shop her empty credibility to shed crocodile tears of love of country/people on make-believe Medias they peddle in a foreign language Ethiopians don’t understand to tap the donors’ money.

“The Market Maker” as her foreign enablers like to refer her must have gotten in her head to forget; her own profession of economics is telling her she is a ‘Market Raider’ on behalf ethnic oligarchs she serves that made the “destructive ethnic bigotry” she cry about a national policy at cost of millions of innocent Ethiopians lives . What a pity when good education goes to waste.

As United Negro Fund recipient Dr. Eleni reversed its slogan from “a Mind is a terrible thing to waste” to “Education is a terrible thing to waste”. For sure, Eleni like many dysfunctional elites wasted all the resources invested in their educations with distinction or as our people like to refer them, የተማረ መሀይም.

The article is dedicated for our people dying needlessly under Agazi assassins just because the enabling dysfunctional elites refused to tell the truth nothing but the truth about the 27-year-old ethnic apartheid Mafia regime.
