The closest I saw brother Ademo was at the memorial organized for Meles by his foreign friends at Abyssinian Baptist church, Harlem, NY on Saturday when the city was preparing for Super Sandy Storm in October 2012.
Few of us were protesting by saying that Memorial should be for Meles victims of the 2005 election who were gunned down by Meles direct order. UN boss, Susan Rice, Amb David Shinn and many other high dignitaries were surprised meeting protesters at the memorial.
David Shinn wrote about his disappointment for being shouted at by few protesters.
Mr. Ademo seems also confused about the protest like David Shinn.
The New York activists started exposing Meles led Ethnic dictatorship since May 1991.
Our opposition to Ethnic politics of TPLF led EPRDF for the last 27 years was aired on NPR, WNYC, BBC among other media outlets.
Following the stolen 2005 election we tried to inform fellow Africans back home the danger of Ethnic Federalism for Africa on Straight Talk Africa TV hosted by Shaka Ssali where brother Ademo was a guest on the program this year.
Mr. Ademo, however, on his writings and speeches he proved for many of us that he is a student of Meles Zenawi.
What he has been fighting for is implementation of the Tribal Constitution and the Nine Ethnic Zones primarily his Oromia.
On all occasions he tried his best to convince his listeners that there is no Ethiopia. His goal is Independent Oromia with its capital Finfine now Addis Ababa.
Here is my advice for Mr. Ademo. Meles Zenawi led TPLF failed to destroy Ethiopia and ninety days ago Abyi Ahmed a student of Meles Zenawi recognized this fact and is now doing his best to stop the last 27 year of ethnic madness.
I hope Mr. Ademo can help Abyi new vision of Ethiopia where ideology not ethnicity to be a driving force for political competition in Ethiopia.
For that we need to be Ethiopians first which is Abyi rallying cry of “Medemer” or Inclusive not Ethnic Division. We can be proud of our cultural and linguistic diversity comprising of more than eighty groups. People are encouraged to develop it and promote it.
However, we can not afford having ethnic parties and nine ethnic zones imposed by TPLF and OLF more than twenty years ago that resulted into more than 2 million internally displaced and thousands of death.
The ethnic coalition of EPRDF failed and Abyi might be the last man to lead this coalition.
If there is a true election in 2020 the result will be the repeat of 2005. OPDO led EPRDF will be defeated. That will be the official death of ethnic parties and ethnic politics in Ethiopia.
Brother Ademo who has a 16 year of educational and life experience of the West can contribute a lot to Ethiopia in journalism he is trained by knowing Ethiopia. He should go to all parts of Ethiopia and talk to the people and learn what Ethiopianism means. He would find what Lemma Megersa the president of the Oromo described that Ethiopianism is an addiction !!!!! We all have it and is nothing like it !!!!
