News has it, the renowned pop star and vocalist Teddy Afro got permission to hold his concert in Bahir Dar. The concert is scheduled to be held on 20 January 2018.

The Artist is well known and liked for his music in Ethiopia and other parts of the world but shunned by the present government. Teddy preaches love, togetherness, peace and most of all the love of Ethiopia and Ethiopians through the lyrics of his captivating music.

The go ahead of the concert is given by Amhara regional government. Such a move by the Amhara Regional Government is believed to create further rift with the ruling minority government of the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) and assert the authority of the Amhara Regional Government.

The permission to stage the concert is the culmination of concerted efforts between Amhara Regional Government, Bahir Dar City Administration Office and many other concerned bodies, it is reported. Such undermining of the minority EPRDF party has been going on for a while now by both Oromia and Amhara Regional Administrations.

According to reported estimates, the long awaited concert of Teddy Afro is expected to be attended by about 60,000 fans from many parts of the country in Bahir Dar stadium.
