Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn of Ethiopia officially announced today that he has submitted his resignation from his position as the Prime Minister of the federal government of Ethiopia and from the chairmanship of the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF)- the foursome party coalition that officially ruled the country for nearly three decades.
On a televised speech on EBC TV, the Prime Minister said he resigned on his own will in order to allow the reform his party coalition set out to do and to aid the reform process.
His resignation is subject to approval by EPRDF, the Prime Minister Said.
