Ethiopian athlete Chala Bayou banned for 2 years

The Ethiopian athlete that competes internationally in the world famous 3000 meters steeplechase has been suspended from participating in athletic sport competition for two consecutive years.

Mr Challa Bayou has allegedly punched his trainer Mr Yohannes Mohammed on the face when he learned he was not selected to participate in the upcoming London Athletic Championship in the summer of 2017. Athlete Challa bayou, who travelled to Rio De Janeiro representing his country in the Rio 2016 failed to pass the first round of competition and was sent back home.

The championship in London or as it is properly called IAAF Championships London 2017, runs from Augus 4-13, 2017 and is highly contested and sought after summer sports event in the world. This and similarly prestigious sport events are also an opportunity and a major source of income for athletes coming from the third world countries like Ethiopia.

The Ethiopian Athletics Federation banned athlete Challa Bayou from participating in any kind of sports competition for his alleged criminal action for which charges have been filed.The whereabout of the athlete is not known and the police is searching to find and arrest him.
